Winds Across the Prairie

An unforgettable evening of music, community, and purpose benefiting Douglas County CASA.

This fall we will gather again for a one-of-a-kind outdoor concert featuring the University of Kansas Wind Ensemble. Every ticket and donation helps ensure children experiencing abuse and neglect have a dedicated advocate by their side.

Tickets are sold out! You Can Still Be Part of the Evening!

Although event tickets are no longer available, there are still ways to support Douglas County CASA:

* Join the waitlist in case tickets become available.

* Purchase a Raffle Ticket for a chance to win a handcrafted sunflower quilt and two (2) tickets to the event.

* Make a donation to help us meet our goal of raising $200,000!

What To Expect

Set against the beautiful backdrop of rural Douglas County, Winds Across the Prairie combines live music, local hospitality, and meaningful impact. Guests enjoy an open-air performance by the University of Kansas Wind Ensemble, a picnic-style gormet dinner catered by Evan Williams, and an evening spent supporting one of our community’s most vulnerable populations. Whether you’re attending for the music, the mission, or both, you’ll leave inspired by the difference CASA advocates make in the lives of local children.

Since the inaugural event in 2021, Winds Across the Prairie has brought together music lovers, community leaders, and CASA supporters for a memorable evening under the stars.

The event features a special performance by the University of Kansas Wind Ensemble, whose talented musicians fill the prairie with everything from classical favorites to contemporary selections.

Most importantly, every dollar raised supports Douglas County CASA’s mission of recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer advocates for children involved in the court system due to abuse or neglect.

Why Your Support Matters

When a child enters the court system because of abuse or neglect, they need someone focused solely on their best interests. Douglas County CASA recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates who provide a consistent voice for children during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. By attending Winds Across the Prairie, sponsoring the event, or making a donation, you help ensure more children have access to the advocacy, stability, and support they deserve.

Thank You to Our 2026 Sponsors

Winds Across the Prairie would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and community partners.

Your support helps make this event a success while advancing CASA’s mission throughout Douglas County.
