Join the Kansas Coalition against Sexual and Domestic Violence Child Welfare Project Team for a two-part online training series on addressing domestic violence in child welfare. Part 1 will focus on getting to know the family including identifying risk and dangerousness factors of batterers, understanding the safety and protective actions of the non-abusive parent, and supporting the parent/child bond between the children and the non-abusive parent. During Part 2, participants will practice strategies and skills to document batterer tactics and accountability, as well as the safety and protective actions of the non-abusive parent. Participants will also learn how to identify interventions appropriate for families experiencing domestic violence and interventions that are not recommended. A PDF copy of the Domestic Violence Manual for Child Welfare Professionals will be provided to all participants and utilized as a training tool during each training.
