Back to School Gift Card Drive

July 15, 2024

It's that time of year again! Love it or dread it, the back to school season is upon us. Freshly sharpened pencils and squeaky new sneakers are the norm for many kids launching their next school year, and CASA wants to make sure that reality is lived for the children we serve.

Depending where a child is placed during their time in the child welfare system, they may or may not have access to new clothes, updated school supplies, or the end of summer treats many families will be enjoying in the coming weeks. To provide the opportunity for these everyday joys, we are asking for the community's support during our Back-to-School Gift Card Drive.

While out in the community this month, would you consider picking up a gift card to donate to a CASA child? While we cannot predict what every child may need, we do love to give them choices and experiences they may otherwise miss out on. You can help them prepare for school with the opportunity to purchase well-fitting clothes they like, notebooks in colors they choose, and daily necessities they can call their own.

Suggested gift cards in amounts from $5-100:

  • Big box stores: Walmart, Target, Amazon
  • Clothing shops: Kohls, TJ Maxx, Burlington, Ross, thrift stores
  • Shoe stores: Famous Footwear, Dick's Sporting Goods
  • Treats for shopping: fast food, ice cream, coffee

Drop your donations by our office at 725 N. 2nd Street, Suite M in North Lawrence Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Questions? Contact Brooksie at bmccarty@dccasaks.org or 785.832.5172.
